this divides the screen into three  and the middle point is used as the point of interest where the camera is focused at.

Golden mean

this points out where the point of interest are which are the dots along the line.

Thriller- This can be a book, film or play, depicting crime, mystery or espionage in a atmosphere of excitement and suspense.

INFER AND DECDUCE

Infer means you have a logical guess and Decduce is when we know something is true when it is a fact.

Genre!

Genre is a type of category of film for example: Action, Romance, Thriller, Comedy, Animation :) which i love, Gangster, Horror and western.
There are three different type of genre which are: Major genre, Sub genre and Hybrid genre.
Major genre
a important category which most people would know of because it is an obvious genre such as action.
Sub genre
this would be a minor category that is similar to a certain major genre.
Hybrid genre
combination of genres that create another type of film for example these may be horror or western.

Some key words:
Audience
analyse
construct
market
niche
characters
stars

You can guess what type of genre a films is by looking at signs for example mise-en-scene, conventions and sometimes character because some star may play specific roles in movie such as Jim Carey normally stars in comedy's which helps you define the movie easier.
Mise-en-scene- what has been put in the picture or frame of a shot this may include: the set, props, characters or the landscape.

Thriller genre
The thriller genre is a type of genre filled with suspense and tension which makes your heart pump normal thrillers contain lots of action when seeing this is normal to see chase scenes in thrillers and can contain violent such as seeing props as knife and guns are normally used within thrillers and normally contains a good person and a villain. Thing such as ransoms, captivities, heist, revenge and kidnappings are typically known to happen in these.

elements of a thriller

this can show the viewer that this is a thriller because of violent and knifes this helps to show the mise-en-scene and to show it is a thriller.
And the scene at the graveyard show darkness and mysteriousness which are conventions of a thriller this is a one normal setting for a thriller and it is a empty place.
And people is Hooddies is a typical costume for a thriller this is because gangs are used a lot in thrillers as they create a feeling of intimidation and fear.

Media Lessons

I have had three Media Studies lessons so far, lessons are going pretty well and I'm enjoying it, even though its only been three lessons!
In the first lesson we were introduced to each other which is quite nerve racking if you don't like speaking out loud. Which I don't! Because I get all shy. But other than that lessons are really good. During the second lesson we have created this blog which I don't know how to use at all and learned about genres. In my third lesson which was today we were talking about all the types of camera shot which are involved when producing a film.
I have watched a really good film lately called TAKEN which is amazing its an action thriller with the star Liam Neeson. The film is about a father who Is searching for his daughter after she has been "taken"  from Paris and turned into a prostitute. Her father is an ex-spy who will do anything to get his daughter back. this film contains loads of filming such as different types of shot and other techniques, such as during  an action scene his daughter (kim) get dragged out from under a bed which is a close up which is quite rare because most action shots are mid shots or long mid shots. Also during the flim when there are flashbacks they present it well because they make the movement slower and the shot brighter.
